Mezzotint method does not use acid etching and carving, but relies

on a special shake chisel knife to make the surface into dense rough

spots, resulting in black, and then scrape and flatten these rough

spots to different degrees through a scraper and pressing knife,

Showing different levels of light and shade to produce the image.

It has been used to reproduce oil paintings and portraits for centuries,

but in modern times, it has been used by some printmakers to create

prints with special effects.
