As Deanston distillery was born of an entrepreneurial spirit, so too was their new Dragon’s Milk Stout Cask Finish. What better way to celebrate their roots, and toast the makers, than by partnering with kindred spirits.
New Holland Brewing Company is one such kindred spirit. Driven by their own entrepreneurialism and creativity, they brew, mature and bottle an impressive selection of beers and spirits. Their flagship brand is a bourbon barrel aged stout called Dragon’s Milk. This resulted in Deanston Dragon’s Milk, Stout Cask Finish. A bold and experimental single malt, sweet and malty, with a woody bitterness you would expect from a rich stout influence.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Crisp green apple perfectly balanced with sweet honey, roasted malt and a hint of hops
Taste: Initial mouth coating sweet maltiness, with deep vanilla tones and gentle caramel, giving way to sharp citrus and a woody bitterness from the rich stout influence
Finish: Dry finish with stone fruits and a slight hint of espresso
