There is a damaged place pictured above on photo #3, also some damage on the back of the bookend of the caboose, also pictured above photo #9. Bookends are sturdy and have felt fabric on the bottom to prevent slipping. It is a very nice set. It would look nice on any bookshelf! If you like trains, this may be the set of bookends for you!
