Our vegetable tanned leather products are made using full grain leather sourced from a Italian tannery that has been producing leather hides since 2003. 

Turning animal skins into leather requires the use of tannins to remove moisture and prevent the skins from decaying. Tannins are natural compounds that can be found in tree bark, leaves, and other plant material. Hides are soaked in this solution for over a month, producing a strong, stiff leather beloved for its durability, earthy smell, and rich color. Due to the amount of time and care required to produce veg-tan leather, it is more expensive than other types, but well worth the price for its strength and durability. 

Vegetable tanned leather is a beautiful, environmentally friendly leather that will last a lifetime, especially with proper maintenance.

While using vegetable tanned leather does cost more we prefer to use a material with (relatively) less impact on the environment and we love the way vegetable tanned leather changes and develops over a lifetime of use.

Our vegetable tanned leather is the A grade leather.Veg tan leather is tanned with vegetable tanning agent extracted from plants. Since this leather can be used to make leather products that come into direct contact with the human body. It is an environmentally friendly natural cowhide, which is a cowhide without any coating, finishing, or chemical coloring treatment. Over time, the leather becomes darker in color and the surface of the leather is more shiny.

Great for arts, crafts, tooling, stamping, sewing, carving properties, hobby workshop. The leather hide can be used in all leather craft projects, such as carving, dyeing, embossing, holster, blade, stamping, handbag, wallet, holster, shoes, insoles, hats, belts, belts, iphones shells, ipad covers, and other leather craft projects.

Keep away from water and oil stains, veg tan leather will discolor when it meets water and will also leave water marks that cannot be completely removed. Avoid high temperature and exposure to the sun to prevent deformation and cracking. Put mink oil or horse oil on the new vegetable tanned leather once, put it in a ventilated and cool place and wait for the leather to absorb the oil and dry.
