RARE, WRITTEN PROVENANCE

The spoons are an OLD estate find from decades earlier; then tucked away.  Both spoons have a maker's mark & both were specially created as a wedding gifts by the bride's brother, per the old heirloom hand written note card, still attached:

Front reads:  "These spoons were made by Geo (George) Conrad, a brother of the bride" .. & backside: "Her mother's wedding silver 1855"

Larger spoon is 8.5" in long,
Hallmarked: "G.O. Conrad"

Small spoon is 6.75" in long,
Hallmarked:  "E. Adams."

Actual U.S. silver dollars were therefore melted down, hand forged & styled into this wonderfully loving pair of scarce spoons, i.e., specially created & gifted large silver serving spoons for a sister's wedding way back in 1855 .. in the classic Edwardian/Victorian fiddleback period style.  What a wonderful brother & friend, helper .. Adams? I dont know anything else about this wonderful early silver pair but what note says.
