DESCRIPTION

Sure Electronics' MB-CM1311 module is a USB host to serial (TTL level) converter, based on the PIC24FJ256GB106 microcontroller.

The module is factory programmed with the mouse-keyboard demo program (source code 1). It also has a USB storage demo program available (source code 2).

For a quick test connect 5V and a standard USB mouse to the module. Click the left and right mouse buttons, and the corresponding LEDs will light up on the board. Please be aware that the serial signals are TTL level (not RS-232 levels).

The module can be reprogrammed through the 6 through-hole connection points at the side of the board with a PickIt or similar debugger/downloader.

Program development can be done with the free MPLAB development suite.
