This is a beautiful 18th century French silver sifter
or sugar spoon marked for the city of Paris
dated 1778 by the silversmith,
Nicolas Gonthier, active from 1768.
The spoon is decorated a crest
surmounted by a count's coronet.
The spoon measures 8 1/4 inches
and weighs 3.2 ounces.
Excellent condition without restoration.
