Incredibly rare difficult to find Victorian Era card game made in New York by the McLoughlin Brothers. Set includes 43 illustrated color cards, instruction book (missing last page), box (lid missing 3 sides), and 45 round wooden discs for the “pool.” Cards in great shape. Instructions say there are 44 cards, New York historical society has 42 cards, and this has 43. See photos.

The Game of City Life reflects American fascination with New York as a "sin city." The game's cards contain vivid illustrations of "the scenes, characters, and incidents common to life in a large city," including wife beater, cruel woman, strong-minded woman, street gamin, rum seller, defaulting bank cashier, capitalist, dude, and the corner loafer.
