JJ Audio Huskey 47

The Huskey 47 has been around for several years as a custom built, rendition of the U47. The original U47 uses the Legendary Telefunken VF14 vacuum tube. With that tube no longer being manufactured, the cost has risen to thousands of dollars and there is no guarantee that tube will not be noisy. Subsequently, many microphone builders have tried many different tubes to get the elusive tone of the VF14. I personally have tried the EF12k, EF14, EF80, EF800 and many others. For this mic, I finally settled on the EF802. This is a Pentode that when under heated, has striking similarities to the VF14. The tube in this mic has gold pins and is made in Great Britain. The transformer is a custom wound BV8. The circuit board is plexiglass and has gold plated pins that are point to point wired.
