The kukri or khukuri is a large Nepalese knife (about 30-40 cm) used both as a work tool and as a weapon, part of the equipment of Gurkha soldiers, hence the name "Knife of the Gurkas".
It has a heavy and curved blade, cutting on the concave side (therefore the one inside the curve), with an angle of about 20, from 3 to 10 centimeters wide.
The weapon has a very strong symbolic meaning in the Nepalese culture: it represents the courage and value of the Gurka warrior, both in the Nepalese army and in the Royal Gurkha Rifles or other contingent operating in countries other than Nepal, it appears in the ritual objects of the festivities (the groom wear kukri during wedding ceremony) etc.
