The vase depicts  the image from the most recognizable Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha.  The allegorical “ Night’s Rest “ of 1897. 

Alphonse Mucha was a Czech artist.  In his paintings he stylized pretty women and charming plants to an ornament of timeless aesthetics. Classic Art Nouveau. 

His Art Nouveau works are most recognizable and famous to this day. 

The stamp at  the bottom in German explains that this vase was part of an Art project from Goebel with cooperation of Mucha Foundation &  VG Build-Kunst Trust.

The Mucha Foundation is an independent, non-profit making charity devoted to preserving and conserving the Mucha Trust Collection and promoting the work of Alphonse Mucha.

Label at the bottom says “ Goebel . Artis Orbis. Mucha Trust , VG Build Kunst, Bonn 2000 . Night’s Rest 1897  “ .

Goebel is the mark used by W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik of Oeslau, Germany, now Rodental, Germany. 

The company was founded by Franz Detleff and William Goebel in 1871. It was known as F&W Goebel. Soon the company began making porcelain tableware and figurines. Hummel figurines were first made by Goebel in 1935 and are now being made by another company . Goebel is no longer  in business since 2013.
