This is a Frisian or Friese Stoelklok from the 1940's. For those unfamiliar, Frisia was once its own sovereign country in Europe with its distinct language and culture but became part of other countries before finally becoming a region in the Netherlands (Holland) as it is today. Frisia is famous for horses and clocks, particularly this style of wall clock called a stoelklock or "stool clock" translated into English. In English, these are often referred to as Dutch Mermaid clocks for their distinctive Mermaids these clocks often have on the sides much as this one does. This clock was built in the Frisian region of the Netherlands in the 1940s and is in good condition for its age and traveling to the United States. My family purchased this clock from the Netherlands in 2008 and paid close to $1,000 at the time. It runs and is in good condition, however, I tried to show as much as I could, nicks and missing spots of paint here and there, the clock is around 80 years old. It was kept in a smoke and pet free home. It's roughly 35 inches in length, 16 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. 31" x 16" x 10". Because the clock is a delicate antique clock, I will have local shipping and packing store, The Box Zone, in Orange, CA, professionally pack this item for me. The charge for their service is $100.00 so that is added as a handling cost plus the actual shipping. Local pickup is available in Southern California, contact me. There is no handling cost for local pickup.   If you want more pictures of any specific angles, just message me and I'll get those to you ASAP. Thank you so much for checking out the listing
