DOVO Solingen straight razors are some of the finest razors for shaving in the world. They have a centuries-old tradition of fine metalwork and their processes for making straight razors is impeccable. The machinery they use is no longer made and so they have to keep producing these products "the old way." The profile of the blade has to be just right. If you remove too much material, it throws the whole grind off and the razor will never shave correctly.
