As WWII begins to fade away, new wars loom on the horizon... and the story continues. The battle raged in the Pacific, but the US Navy was not to be outdone. The Battle of Leyte Gulf saw the Japanese outnumber the lonely US ships but the American shipmates fought hard. Thinking that they were about to encounter a major battle with Halsey and his fleet, the Japanese turned around and headed out, not wanting to sacrifice their entire fleet. But to their surprise, the Americans, though few in numbers, were steadfast and won the battle, which took away Japan's strategic force in the Pacific War. And so the US was ready to move ahead into new historical encounters...
