Very rare

1947 'Murad' hub cap

I have listed this one as used due to the condition but it is new old stock, excellent overall condition just a couple of hairline scratches and one small are where the black paint has flaked a little near the chrome centre as shown in photo's, would be very easy to touch up.

If you are thinking what is a Murad I have never heard of that make before neither had I during 50 years of being involved with classic cars in one way and another until I came across 8 of these, this one is the 2nd best of all of them the condition of the other 6 gets progressively worse, I will be listing those soon once I have cleaned them up a bit.

A British car, in brief only one car the prototype was ever completed and made it's debut at the 1947 Earls Court Motor Show in London and ran up advance orders worldwide of £5.75 million, amazingly that car still survives today.

Some parts were made in advance for the first 100 cars due for production but that never happened, many of these parts were scrapped when the proposed factory was cleared and very few parts survived.

If you google Murad car and look for this link https://www.kentonline.co.uk/sheerness/news/incredible-story-a… it tells you the full and quite sad story, well worth a read.

So, this would make a great wall hanger and conversation piece, a small but rare survivor of British motoring history.
