WWII Scrapbook

Approx. 211 photos:  Various sizes,  Most are of military personnel and locations, some are of non-military folks and locations, a few pets.  2 patches. A few clippings, mostly ads (ex: Straus Esquire Uniform Div.) Some are dated, beginning in 1941.  Some locations named include; Hawaian Islands (including 1 small photo of Hula Girls), Plato, MO, FT. Leonard Wood, Bennet Springs, Waynesville, Jeff City, Lebanon Post Office, St. Louis, School of Mines – Rolla MO, Willow Springs (4-Day Field Problem 8/12/42), Boston Commons 1943.

There are a few photos of equipment, most appear to be training or day-to-day items.  I did not see any battlefield materials.

There are lots of named folks, and I am not sure who to attribute ownership to, it may be possible that a better-informed person may be able to sleuth that information from what is here.

Graduation Exercises, Officer Candidate School, Fargo, 12/9/1942

Tucked into the rear are 4 color drawings of barracks/building interiors.

All photos are black and white, many have typed labels with identifying information. Some photos have information written on the backs.

50 pages of material, 3 blank pages at the rear. 4 drawings tucked in at rear (unattached)

Scrapbook covers: 14.50 x 12.25 inches.

Condition:

While the covers are attached, the cord/string binding itself is intact, but nearly all the inner paper pages have pulled off the binding.  Most page edges have general chipping and tears along the edges.

Some of the photos are loose of the mountings.  I think a few photos have gone missing, but it appears that most have survived.

Everything is fairly clean, most photos appear to be of high-quality paper. The photographer appears to have been reasonably talented.

The scrapbook will be securely packaged for shipment to prevent further wear, but it will be up to the buyer how to reattach/remount pages/materials as they see fit.
