About Artist :

Cheng Shifa (April 10, 1921 to July 18th 2007), Jinshan District Fengjing townfrom Shanghai city. Name of Tong, vegetarian had "step whale floor", "don't idle away a single day Zhai", said "three kettle house", "bamboo mountain building".Childhood is in contact with China calligraphy and painting, but impressed himdeeply than folk art. In 1941 graduated from the painting department of Shanghai fine arts college Chinese. In 1942, held a personal exhibition in Shanghai in 1949 after the new company, engaged in the art popularization, in 1952 into the Shanghai people's Fine Arts Publishing House (East ChinaPeople's Fine Arts Publishing House) creation, in 1956 to participate in Shanghai painting academy preparatory work, and served as a painter. The long-termpresident of Shanghai painting academy, thereafter, artistic vision to expand, "at all times and in all countries of the law", become an independent school in the figures, flowers and birds. Have a certain attainments in the comics, illustration,illustration New Year paintings, etc.. Calligraphy, made effective in the Qin and Han dynasties. His painting of Chen Laolian influence from his early life, old age,for the flower and bird painting painter.
