Up for sale is a long antique Victorian sterling silver pocket watch chain with a fob St. Christopher. The most beautiful chain stitch - thin at both ends and wide in the middle. Each link of the chain is hallmarked with a "lion passant" for sterling silver.The dog clasp is hallmarked:"E.W" for silversmith/ "lion passant" for sterling silver/"n" for 1912(Birmingham hallmarkings) and the T bar is hallmarked "925" for sterling silver.
The fob is in the shape of a medal, on one side is depicted SAINT CHRISTOPHER-patron of sailors, carriers, porters, travelers and drivers. He is considered a protector against sudden death by plane, ship, car. On the reverse side are depicted a plane, a ship and a car and a hallmark: "SILVER" for sterling silver.See dimensions and the condition from the photos, they are an integral part of the description.It is in mint condition with normal signs of use for its age.
