Vintage Wood Bottle Box from HP Hood & Sons, Boston, MA

This is quite a treasure from the days of southern New England dairy farming.  This came from a family estate in CT. 

Box is 13.5” tall x 19.5” wide x 14.75” deep.  

Inside dimensions are 10.75” high x 18 in wide x 13” deep.   

Stamped inside: 

• Made by Atwood & McManus Box Co., Cheslea, Mass.  

• “Inbound Bottle Box” Trade Mark

• Licensee Under Patents 1411434  1504760  1508657  

Box and finish are all original.  I just keep it clean.  Very nice patina.  No work done on this before offering this for sale.  Shows wear and tear from use.  See pictures for conditions. 

Made from wide plank hardwood, very sturdy and strong. The wood box weighs a hefty 18 lbs.  

Heavy steel hinges, steel clasp and steel trim.
