An eye-catching and intriguing naive school painting, showing a woman holding flowers in a dance pose centre, a house near a harbour with ships beyond, and to the left a shady figure of a man, shapes of boats and a man mending nets. There is a curious bier-like contraption centre ground and a large apple shape foreground.

The painting is signed J Aldridge on the back. The signature appears to be over another, and there is also an inscribed title "Stable Companions", just visible on the edge of the canvas at the rear, which suggests that this painting is on top of another earlier one.
