The design of the 1849 Jacques Series Chess Set is an exact reproduction of the Chess set designed by a famous woodturner John Jacques and registered by his associate Nathaniel Cooke on 1st March 1849.

The beautiful chess set pieces with the meticulously handcrafted knights are carved with perfection and expert precision. It has been designed to withstand the rigours of practical play while maintaining an elegance. The Chess Pieces are hand carved by our skilled master craftsmen and crafted out of highest grade exotic woods. It offers the highest level of detail and would make a wonderful additional to any chess collection. The set is entirely handmade in India and weighted for prodigious hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board.
