Gives a very pleasant cool breeze in hot weather - much better than just a fan.

I was very sceptical when I first heard about these units, about how effective they could be - I was pleasantly surprised when I actually tried one.  Anyone who tells you that any kind of evaporative cooler will give you an icy cold blast like a full-blown air conditioning unit will is not telling the truth, none of them will do that, but what they will do is give a very pleasant cool-feeling breeze for very little power consumption.

You fill the removeable tank on the left of the machine with ordinary tap water, it doesn't have to be chilled, and turn on.  The cooling can be switched on or off, so it can just be used as a fan only.  The fan has 3 speeds and also has a side-to-side swing function, to distribute the cool air around the room, as well as manually adjustable fixed louvres to direct the air up or down.

These are 240v units, fitted with a standard UK 3 pin plug.  You can buy 12v units, but they are very expensive indeed - over £300 for an effective one.  My 240v units only consume 60w of power so will run very easily off even a small plug-in inverter if you are not on mains hook-up.  I attend motorhome fairs as a Trader and use a small 150w plug-in inverter to demonstrate these units with no problems at all.

The cooler is 34cm / 13 1/2" tall, 20cm / 8" wide and 27cm / 10 1/2" deep.
