This is the
White Label PROMO for 'RARITIES' complete with inserts and OBI.
Issued as part of the Country Flag Series of The Beatles Japanese Albums in 1979 (EAS-63010) including the six page insert to promote Issue Number 34 in the Country Flag Obi series, that has the UK flag on the obi strip. The record is a gem and extremely rare and collectable.
VINYL: Near MINT condition on high quality Japanese vinyl.
OBI: Excellent condition. Shiny and clean. Slight wear on top right of obi strip and tiny nick on bottom rear. (see pics).
COVER: Strong, cardboard sleeve in excellent condition. Very minimal shelf wear. Sharp, clean corners with no significant wear. Remarkably good for its age. PromoSticker 見本 盤 obi strip front and back.
INSERT: Clean six page lyrics booklet with pictures and notes printed in English and Japanese. No damage, slight yellowing of the paper due to age. (The Four Page booklet insert has an extra two page loose insert, all in excellent condition.)
LABELS: WHITE PROMO LABELS. Clean, unblemished labels with no spindle marks. Mihonban 見本 盤 PRINTED on both labels. Labels that have the Mihonban, meaning "Sample" in Japanese, indicates a genuine official promo.

Audiophile Quality Stereo: Fresh stereo mixes beautifully balanced, with absolute clarity.
As the name of the album suggests, all of the songs included were considered to be rare in one way or another, such as singles that had not previously been on an album in the countries where 'RARITIES' was released. As such, the track list differs on the various versions of 'Rarities' that you may have seen. This edition for Japan, reflects the British version and is quite different from the American version.
Two tracks sung in German: 'She Loves You' and 'I want To Hold Your Hand'.
All other tracks sung in English.
An interesting feature of this album is
Brian Jones of Rolling Stones fame, playing the sax during the quirky 'You Know My Name' (another little known fun Beatles classic recorded in 1969).
