STUNNING ART DECO BRONZE DANCER BRUNO ZECH MARBLE BASE…..25” in height and 9.5KG in weight….👀

This listing is for a stunning BRONZE made from the lost wax process (cire perdue) featuring a beautiful young girl in a scantily clad, flowing dress seductively raising her leg in a dance movement, long extension of arms and a beautiful face. Please see photos. The marble base sets it off to perfection with its orange stripes and narrowing cylinder form, seated on a plain black marble plinth.

It is a recast of an original by the famous scultptor of the erotic Bruno Zach and bears the associated replica signature and foundry mark.

The attention to detail is fantastic and the sculpture, set on an attractive marble base, is extremely lifelike.

Stunning centrepiece, very evocative of the early 20th century. It would make a superb gift for those who appreciate art deco masterpieces.

Biography

Ukrainian-born artist Bruno Zach was a controversial sculptor of his era, and his erotic work had an impact on the early 20th century art world. Zach studied at the Vienna Academy and was taught by Hans Bitterl

Bruno Zach worked between the years of 1918 and 1935, revelling in the spirit of Art Deco. Although he executed some graceful moving statues, this Berlin based sculptor devoted most of his energy and talents to the exotic. Zach loved to render his world of exotic nightlife in his work, especially the prostitues with whom he loved to socialize. In fact, one prostitue with whom Zach was in love refused to marry him, leading to his famous work entitled "Hearts."

In industrial uses, the modern process is called investment casting. An ancient practice, the process today varies from foundry to foundry, but the steps which are usually used in casting small bronze sculptures in a modern bronze foundry are generally quite standardised.

Sometimes called by the French name of 'cire perdue' or the Latin, 'cera perduta' is the process by which a bronze or brass is cast from an artist's sculpture.
