This primitive planter was used in the large vegetable gardens that sustained the large families in the early 1900’s. The peas/seed corn/ slices of potatoes were dropped in the top and the tool was shoved in the soil and pushed open to deposit the seeds in the ground. I remember my dad in the 50’s and 60’s using a newer version in our large vegetable gardens. This is a reminder of simpler times. 31” long
