Robert Pettes 1958 Print Unscheduled Stop 1910 Women Lady Distress Classic Auto. 11" wide x 9" Weighs 15.5 oz before packaging.

Robert Pettes was a commercial artist illustrator whose prints were popular for use in calendars and eventually even in puzzles. This is a hard to find one that captures humor, the woman's expectation of rescue, and the male hero's trudge to the rescue. The classic auto, the vintage clothing, the yellow aura of the country scene, and the humerous situation make this a fun old print to add to your collection. The frame seems to be original to the time as I have seen the same type of nails and cardboard backing on a different print of Pettes' work. It is a cardboard backing that is in need of replacement, and the thin original wiring has split in half. I would not mind keeping it. It makes me laugh.
