YOU CHOOSE THE CONVERSION TYPE. Options:

Canon EOS 60D, used in good condition. Signs of use as shown in photos. Camera never dropped on the floor, in the seabed or in an active volcano!

Extras: 3rd party Battery, 3rd party USB charger and SD card.

Only camera body (no lens) and the above extras included.

A few details about the conversions:

1) Full Spectrum bare sensor modification:

After the conversion, your camera will be suitable for Astrophotography, Infrared, Ultraviolet, and Daylight photography (assuming the correct filter is used).

This is the most flexible type of modification as the camera retains maximum sensitivity in all the above light wavelengths.

Explore a whole new world of creativity capturing nebulas in vivid color and dream-like IR photos. Reveal what’s beyond the visible, mastering UV photography and at the same time continue capturing ‘normal’ visible-light photos.

This is a Bare Sensor Modification, meaning that nothing is placed in front of the sensor.

Note that the auto dust cleaning mechanism will not be available after the conversion as both the low pass filter and the piezoelectric element are removed.

Extra filter(s) required with this type of modification depending on what you want to shoot (daylight, UV, IR, astro).

2) Astrophotography modification.

After the conversion, your camera will be suitable for Astrophotography (and Daylight photography with an extra filter).

Only the colour filter (Lpf2) is removed. UV/IR cut filter (Lpf1 - piezoelectric filter) is retained so the auto dust cleaning mechanism will be available after the conversion. It can be used for RGB astrophotography without any extra filters. An extra filter can be used depending on specific shooting conditions and/or applications (e.g. H-Alpha and/or light pollution filters).

3) Infrared modification. 720nm R72 filter.

After the conversion, your camera will be suitable for IR 720nm photography.

Both Lpf1 and Lpf2 filters removed and replaced with an IR filter.

Space Tinkerer R72 is an excellent filter. Take a look at the last sample photos for a side-by-side comparison with the Hoya R72.

In all conversions, auto focus with any lens is guaranteed as the camera sensor is recalibrated.

An SD card is provided in the camera. Focus testing shots are included in the SD card. Also included, a shot in a blank background as proof that the sensor is dust-free.

Auto focus. Camera changes and limitations. Most lenses available, are tuned to capture visible light. Other lights, for example Infrared is longer in wavelength than visible light and focuses differently so you may even notice that in a zoom lens, Viewfinder autofocus is accurate in a focal length and a bit off in another. The recommended way to use (auto)focus is via Live View. In most cases, autofocus via the Viewfinder will work fine but it may be a bit off, depending on the lens and the settings. In typical landscape photography with a closed aperture (e.g. f/11) I expect that Viewfinder autofocus will work fine but for example in portrait photography with a fast lens wide open (e.g. f/1.8) I would use the Live View to focus. Autofocus in Astrophotography is irrelevant as for astro we only focus manually.
