It has all the essentials - remote power control, fully assymetrical outputs, rugged design. Profoto advertise the newer packs as having a lower flash duration, and this simply is not effectively the case - they have a lower minimum only. It's a lesser known nerdy spec, but over useful power levels, the Pro-8a has shorter durations, especially at full power where flash duration can become an issue in more typical contexts like fashion shoots with movement.
