the blankets are used for puggaree,s as the material is very similar to what was used at the time, (Australian Wool)

To fit;Stretch puggaree inside-out lightly around brim of hat center patch on right side of hat crown  pinch ends together   cut of excess and sew the two ends together dont make it to short or over lap ends and pin with a bobby-pin/hair clip
