Very rare find. This Monitor sewing machine was manufactured by Shaw & Clark c1860-1864. It is made of cast iron, has a hydrant pillar top, hand crank with original wooden turn knob & colorful label, which is partially remaining. The sewing plate is unmarked. They were marked after 1864 & the paw feet were no longer made after that date. Sewing machine is all intact & all original. Needle bar moves easily & as intended. Walking foot looks good, but does not feed. In very good aesthetic condition, but is non-functional.

Base measures 13” wide, including wheel & turn knob. 8” deep at the base. Pillar area is 9” tall.
