1930s Latvia Porcelain Sweets Coffee Pot produced and hallmarked by JESSEN RIGA Porcelain Factory, beautiful old porcelain, rare item. Nice piece for porcelain collectors. 100% AUTHENTIC.

Historical background of Riga porcelain:

Production of porcelain and faience wares in Riga started in the 19th century when the first porcelain factories were established. In 1841 the Russian entrepreneur Sidor Kuznetsov founded the oldest and largest porcelain factory in Riga. It was located at Dreilini, on the outskirts of the city. In 1886 the German entrepreneur Jacob Jessen opened the second largest porcelain factory at JaunmTlgravis. For a long time both differently named factories worked side by side, until they were united in 1963 to form the bases of the Riga Porcelain and Faience Factory, afterwards renamed - the Riga Porcelain Factory.
