The case holds the camera bodies, the motor drives, and lenses in a unique shock-resistant compartment with a flap pocket and side pockets for filters, accessories, and memory cards.
The case was Leica’s choice as their camera case when they promoted their best of the best camera and lenses!

We are offering yet another great Ghurka Vintage bag. This is the 9th Ghurka camera case we are offering in our store, and so far, one of the best!
This is a unique and practical camera bag in khaki twill & saddle leather, an original Ghurka bag by Marley Hodgson in style No. 57, "The RANGEFINDER." This bag is light yet roomy, safe & highly secure to carry your valuable camera and lenses. The case has been used with care and is in excellent condition. We rated the inside condition 9.6 and outside 8.6, and overall 8.9 out of a perfect 10!
One of Ghurka’s early designs, the RANGEFINDER is the quintessential Ghurka camera case, a true classic carried by some of the most well-known photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Brian Duffy, Arnold Newman, Richard Avedon, and Eve Arnold! The Ghurka RANGEFINDER bag is the Cadillac of safari camera cases, with its roomy and secured interior for keeping your camera and lenses safe. Too bad Ghurka does not make them anymore! It has an extended front compartment with flap closure, extended zipper pockets on each side, and zip-around closure with push lock closure on top. This case has all cowhide leather with four brass feet in the bottom for more protection. The vast and long adjustable shoulder strap makes this bag so easy to carry even very heavy loads. Great photography tool with a touch of Indiana Jones, a safari look of serious photographers! This style does not often become available in this fantastic condition, so this is a chance to make it yours!

Founded in Connecticut in 1975 by luxury belt and brace designer Marley Hodgson, Ghurka has served as a symbol of superior American leather craftsmanship for over thirty years.
The origins of the Ghurka brand can be traced back to a fortuitous discovery at a British auction house in the early 1970s. Inspired by his love of history and leather craft, Hodgson bid on campaign travel gear and leather boots formerly owned by a British Ghurka officer stationed in India at the turn of the 20th century. He was so impressed by the quality of the nearly century-old leather – durable yet supple despite its age – and by the intricate craftsmanship that he was compelled to launch a line of comparable leather accessories. Hodgson tracked down the lost tanning formula for these boots and other accouterments carried by the legendary Ghurka regiments and applied the manufacturing process to his new collection ".
