Another fabulous single cask from Glendronach which has been released exclusively for the UK market only and aged in a single Oloroso Sherry Butt.
An antique oak/deep amber colour leads to a rich and dense nose of mincemeat, ripe figs, dates, old tea chests with loose black tea, cherry bakewell, huge sherry influence (roasted nuts/tobacco/nutmeg/fruitcake mix) molasses, carrot cake, dark honey, coffee grinds, meat stock and menthol and just keeps on giving and that is just the nose!
A thick and sappy delivery on the palate and again a huge knife and fork mouthfeel of sherry cask notes with blood orange and treacle tart to add to the flavours that continue from the nose and a finish that starts dry then softens into a long and luxurious finish that is remaniscent of old leather chairs in a cigar room of an old wood panelled library.
This is a Glendronach to sink into like you would a comfy chair or a great novel or combine all three for a sensual overload!
