Distilled in 1971, this is the oldest bottling to date from Glendronach. Matured for an incredible 50 years in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, of which were especially selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, then married together for a final maturation in a single PX cask. Only 198 bottles are available of this exclusive release. Expect notes of rich cherry, dark chocolate and ripe plum.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Antique mahogany chestnut.
Nose: Rich and seductive with mellow layers of alluring complexity. Ripe dark cherry and plum are the prelude to a harmony of rolling stone fruit, gentian and a plume of smouldering tobacco lifted by lilting notes of bramble, orange and cranberry.
Palate: Dense undertones of dark chocolate, tobacco and coca form an exquisite overture of flavour. A perfect counter comes in a crescendo of elegant plum and luxurious black cherry, enrobed in a swathe of velvet espresso.
