Soligor 400mm f6.3 Telephoto Prime - m42 - 35mm full frame -  EX+ condition

A vintage m42 that boasts both sharpness and contrast!

Soligor lenses (oftentimes manufactured by Tokina) were definitely some of the better glass produced in the 1970's, and this crazy clean 400mm is no exception.

It's in fantastic shape inside and out w/ no scratches, mold, haze or cleaning marks.

I purchased this prime a decade ago to help me achieve a series of high-telephoto lunar and solar shots for my very first 35mm shoot. More recently, I enlisted the beastie yet again, this time mounted to a much more advanced cine camera for a 35mm short film I'm currently in the process of completing. For this latest venture I sandwiched a vintage 3x teleconverter between the 400mm and an m42-to-Arri PL mount adapter, then shot a high f-stop/low frame rate to minimize optic vibration. I also experimented with extreme macro involving vintage extension tubes, a simple process that can open up all manner of possibilities. Of course, for more conventional shooting the lens can easily be utilized on the majority of modern DSLRs with any number of m42 adapters available.

Included are a front and rear cap, along with a very clean 72mm Hoya skylight filter that I usually keep on the lens for added protection. The Vivitar front cap is obviously not original to the lens but fits quite nicely. Worth mentioning is the rotatable collar fitted w/ a convenient tripod mount. All in all, just a wonderfully-preserved Soligor that still oozes that 70's goodness!

As with all of my items, they come from a 100% pet-free (sad, I know), smoke-free, climate-controlled setting.

Free shipping within the continental U.S. and I always ship out within 2 days, oftentimes sooner.

NOTE: All proceeds from auction sales are being devoted entirely to the creation of my first feature length film. Set in the 1960's, the flick is a sentimental ode to classic Japanese sci-fi cinema. Despite its minuscule budget, the project is jam-packed with giant mutated meanies, flying saucers, classic hot rods and daringly-dressed vixens. All realized with traditional 35mm cameras and practical, old school FX.

Absolutely NO CGI whatsoever!

Should any kind person purchase one of my items, they'll be directly funding my small-scale efforts to keep the fast-vanishing art of celluloid filmmaking alive.
