Usage Tips

What our customers tell us they use our colour for:

Bath bomb colours, demonstrating dyeing of natural fibres, Holi Festival of Colours,

making child friendly water colour paint, coloured water experiments and messy fun, making fishing bait and of course

as food colouring. Please be aware some of these applications can cause staining to hands and clothes,

open over a draining board and with adult supervision. The colours contain salt, only use a tiny amount in icing and other pastries.

The best way to get our food colouring from your hands is with the old type block / bar soap.

For your convenience, we generally send bulk bags where a lot of one colour is ordered. (75g or over)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the powder be used to colour white choc olate? No - for that you'll need oil soluble colours, ours are water soluble only.

Some of the powder colours look a bit odd in the packets especially the green? Yes, you need to activate the colours by adding to water (or anything with moisture such as egg whites or the damp

ingredients in a bath bomb). Once hydrated, the colour changes to the vibrant colours we've pictured in the picture inset under each colour.

I'm not sure about the taste of the food colouring? No, don't lick the food colour powder! It's artificial colour and is designed to be used in very small quantities as low as 2 grams in a kg of product

or 9 grams in a litre which can then be further watered down by dropping into the final product.
