• Set of 4 Transportation Vintage Postcards in Good Condition. May have minor scuff from storage. Please see the pictures - what you see is what you will receive. I only have one of each item.
  1. No. 8 -- Velocipede 1865. Forerunner to the 1d. Farthing -- Velocipede or Boneshaker. 1865. Wooden wheels and frame projected by application of feet on road. Only as fast up hill as could be pushed! Easier down hill!
  2. No. 14 -- Decauville (French) Voiturette 1898. 2 Cylinder -- A very pretty car. Its light build stems from racing practice in which these cars took part - Paris - Madrid - Classic Trials, speed limits not applying on the continent. This car was the oldest exhibit in the Measham Museum which closed through lack of patronage unlike those at Caister and Beaulieu which are becoming even more popular. 1898 (2 speed). 2 cyls. in tandem open differential.
  3. No. 6 -- Panhard Levassor (French) 1902. 4 Cylinder 10 h.p. -- Panhard et Levassor. French. This make is one of the most delightful and dainty cars of the era. The Scottish Registration Number is original and the car had been used and located "North of the Border" until it came to England in 1956. It has completed many London to Brighton runs. 4 cyl. (originally platinum tube ignition) 10 h.p. 1902.
  4. No. 7 -- Benz 1899. Single Cylinder Horizontal Tiller Steering -- Carl Benz first started making cars in 1885 by ingeniously fitting a stationary horizontal single cylinder engine into an adapted horse drawn vehicle. This he continued to do until 1900., This Model is 1899, 110 x 110 mm. 31 h.p.
