Cutler Hammer # 6981H26A Red single shipboard indicating light. Preowned, I purchased this off eBay over 20 years ago. Has been shelf display only. A True Steam Punk item. 4-1/2” wide x 6” tall. HEAVY. Single enclosure is made of dark brown Bakelite, the premiere plastic molding compound. Described in my 1944 Cutler Hammer Control for Shipboard Manual as: consisting of two 110 volt lamps connected in parallel so that failure of one lamp will not interrupt indication. The face of the lens is serrated so that indication is visible when viewing the light from an angle. Has logo US with anchor stamped under brass name plate (see picture). These enclosures were used also for push button and rocker arm snap switches. Threaded inserts top and bottom for 1” conduit connection.
