- I bought these from an elderly lady who lived across the street
from us in Pasadena, Texas in 1991.
- She told me she bought them from the lady
who made them in Germany before World War II.
- Her purchase of the dolls was
sometime in the 1960s-70s.
- She told me she used them in teaching Children’s Sunday school
illustrating people of different nationalities.
- They are hand pressed and molded muslin with hand painted
features and footwear.
- Some have what appears to be human hair on their heads, others are molded and painted.
- The costumes are handmade and detailed.
- There
is some wear and tear simply due to age, even though they have been packed away
for 30+ years.
- We have 4 pairs of dolls, each is listed separately.
