This exquisite early 20th century ANTIQUE porcelain GRANDE soup tureen and matching platter set from LIMOGES France is a true masterpiece in reproduction porcelain. The red and gold colours, combined with the love scene theme, create a stunning Louis XIV style centrepiece that will elevate any table setting. The set features gilded, transfer highlights of enamel, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship that has gone into its creation.

The soup tureen and platter are both made from high-quality porcelain, and are handcrafted with care. Its faience pottery production style and technique further enhance its beauty. With a backstamp that is hand-painted, this set was produced in France, adding to its charm. The set is perfect for those who appreciate fine pottery and ceramics, as well as those who love to entertain.

It is marked La reine…translates as “The Queen”….with a crown. Also the artists name is against the various romantic pictures. The paintings (transfers) embellished with highlights of enamel are signed Fragonard….please see notes below.

This set is large on a very grand scale….. Please see the photo of my husband with his hands on either side to appreciate the size and weight….Limoges French porcelain tureen and serving tray from the early 20th century. It has hand painted gilt and floral decorations on a magenta ground. The tureen sits on four gilt scrolled feet which have the original felt pads to protect the tray ..The lid has a large glit finial of a gourd with leaves and twigs. Both pieces are marked Limoges, France on the undersides. The transfer paintings are signed with the artists signature….they portray 18th century life of lovers in a secret place of meeting. They are over painted with enamel to highlight the intimate scenes. The originals would have been wholly hand painted. But hey ho….these too look the piece being very grand and fine.

Great for that special celebration, wedding, anniversary or to keep and admire.
