Here is one of the early, rare versions of newspaper comic characters "Maggie & Jiggs", comic strip ("Bringing Up Father") 8 & 7 inch tall, metal and composition, multi-ball-jointed female comic doll figure by A. Bucherer & Cie, Amriswil, Switzerland, circa 1920s, with well molded and painted. They have composition hands and large feet with double-strap, heeled black shoes & black/white shoes. Listed in the Bucherer catalog as one of the comic character figures, these originally dressed figures were one of a line of figures introduced at the spring, Leipzig fair in 1922 by Bucherer-Fisher (who worked for the famous, German toy company, MARKLIN) becoming an immediate success.
