Many Racers had found after removing the Tongue on the Leading Edge of the X Series Prop the Rpm increases, Acceleration is better and of course the Higher Top Speed.
" From my understanding the tongue are of the prop does most of its work at lower speeds, like getting on to plane. Removing the area should help free up the prop at higher rpms allowing for a higher loaded rpm, ultimately resulting in more speed. In theory detonguing a prop will make top end faster but a little bit more aeration/ cavitation on take offs.
I was a little off, guess you will gain acceleration too according to some other reading i just did. "
