Main Description

10mm Diamond Hole Saw Drill Bit

Diamond dust hole saws are suitable for drilling Ceramic tiles, Glass, Marble, Slate and Porcelain tiles.

Cooling and Lubrication

When cutting hard materials it is important to ensure the cutter is kept cool to avoid damage to the material being drilled and premature wear of the cutter.

Water is an ideal coolant and a constant supply will need to be applied to the tool during use.

This can be achieved by running water over the hole during use or by using a small hose.

The harder the material the more lubrication/coolant will be needed.

Clamp Usage

Ideally the cutter should be used in a drill stand or purpose made drilling machine however it is also possible to produce good results using the technique below – especially for smaller drill sizes, the work piece should be firmly clamped to avoid movement.

Freehand Usage

Hold the drill firmly drilling should start at an angle of 45 degrees until the hole has started and then the drilling should continue at 90 degrees to the surface.

We recommend that you practice on a piece of waste material first.

An alternative method especially useful for larger holes is to clamp a template to the work.

The template can be used to start the hole and avoid the drill moving around.

Templates can be made using the drill itself on a piece of scrap plywood or similar.

Please ensure that safety precautions are taken during use - especially eye protection.
