This is a vintage serving dish - for candy, butter, cheese etc in the shape of anantique flat iron.

I believe that this was manufactured by Imperial Glass and is a product of the 1960s. This covered dish is fashioned in the shape of a flat iron or 'sad iron',  which purportedly was so named because use of those old irons (that were headed on a fire) so often resulted in burns.

This is a beautiful vintage covered dish in emerald green. Vintage glass from this era used two primary green colors - avocado and emerald - and this one is emerald.

Condition: this dish is in good vintage condition with one chip to one of the feet  and one small crack on one  edge of the lid..see final 2 photos
