  • Jan Plaskocinski: Jan Płaskociński (1919 Chruślanki - 1993 Warsaw) was a self-taught painter. He was considered the most interesting contemporary individuality among contemporary primitivist painters. His paintings, full of the strangest botanical specimens, were peopled with mysterious, pensive figures. Animals received decorative forms, although they still remained lions, tigers, elephants. These artist's gardens were created under the influence of longing for enchanting gardens, similar to paradise visions. His paintings have been exhibited abroad, including in Switzerland.
