This Historical Reenacting item is from a smoke-free home and smoke-free environment.  Very well taken care of and from a personal collection of historical re-enacting uniforms and costumes.  Clearing out extra items from recent TV and movie productions.

New (in that water never put in it and never used in the field, never pulled to anyones lips) - Revolutionary War / French & Indian War British Pattern CANTEEN.  Complete with white cotton cording sling attached and wooden carved stopper with Leather thong.  Early style (pre-Rev War) "Kidney" shaped British-style metal canteen (perhaps stainless steel??  I don't know) also good for early 18th century and French & Indian War era - extensively used by many armies from the Seven-Years-War through to the War of 1812.  Not yet used. 

I don't think it will leak and have not put water in this - new out of the box, but leaks can be stopped by lining the canteen with bees wax or other wax.  easy to do and a correct, period appropriate way to treat your canteen.

Approximately 8" high including the spout, 4-1/2" - 5" wide and both hold about 1 quart. Made with food safe solder joints.

A Fantastic item with absolutely no use.  Comes as seen in the photos.  A steal at this price and a great looking Item for collecting for reenacting.
