You will get one Cactus pad that you can plant.


These turn a dark purple in extreme Direct sunlight especially in July and August


The absolute key to success is fast draining soil.  Regular potting mix or soil that has clay or even normal soil for that matter can cause root rot.


They are Cactus so they absolutely love full sun.


I leave these outside all summer and they seem to do quite well even with heavy rains.  


I believe these can take 10° and survive but the key is that they don't get rain and then frozen...  Etc as that will break down the cell walls of the cactus.


Last year I had these Cactus outside in zone 6 temperatures all of last May June July August and September and they did just fine in fast draining soil.   I never watered them and lightly fertilized them with a cactus fertilizer.
