Up for sale is a set of 10 antique Japanese "menuki" handmade from antique Japanese metal. In my opinion and after consulting with specialists in the field of Japanese history, these "menuki" were produced in the late Edo period or Tokugawa period,  that is the period between 1603 and 1868.In mint condition, with normal signs of use, some of them are missing the nails on the back. Please view all photos, they are part of the description and show the condition and dimensions of the item! You get what you see in the pictures!Items are sold as found!
Menuki is one of the components of a Japanese sword that plays an important role in connecting the blade and handle and gives the blade a strong individuality, giving the sword's owner a unique sense of pride and confidence. It is usually made of iron, brass, copper, or bronze and is adorned with beautiful decorations.
The menuki may feature designs or symbols that are associated with specific regions or eras. These designs serve as protective charms and guardians for the sword's owner.
Subsequently, menuki were also used to decorate jewelry boxes, trinkets, writing boxes, necklaces, etc. In this way, they gave the owner individuality, protected him and brought him luck and success.
