Vintage Rawlings Football Helmet This was purchased at an estate sale. Owner collected and was willing to part. Claims early 1900saround 1920 -1930s because earlier football helmets have any face protection. But was informed possible more 50/60s by someone who recognized on this site .Also mentioned it’s a football helmet that’s been converted by the US Army into a paratrooper or tank helmet, thus the covered ears

The Rawlings stamp on the  chin strap. And part of the chin strap is missing. Have a second one,..see my other listings

Condition: Obvious scuffs are visible from previous use. Appears to have been painted at some time, there is a red color notable under some of the scuffs. Leather interior and some kind of commercial heavy plates outer. No cracks or repairs. The interior padding is intact, but leather inside shows discoloration and obvious wear.Parts of the interior leather is cracked and worn. Please look closely at the pictures which are the best and most accurate description of the helmet and its condition
