Parker 51 "O" Rings For Aerometric Fountain Pens, (VITON Poymer).


Dear Pen Friends,
                                  i am re-launching the Parker 51 "O" Rings for Aerometric Fountian Pens, After a long break of Corona Pandemic. It has become very difficult for procuring the Material. Pandemic has elevated the raw material price and also the production cost. Even then, i am trying to give these VITON Polymer made "O" Rings, at a reasonable cost. In the past, the color of the Material is Parrot Green and Now it is Brown. There is absolute NO, quality Difference. 

Science Viton Polymer:
                                          In the Past, Nitrile Butadine Rubber (NBR) is the only materiel, available for the manufacturing of the the "O" Rings and even the vintage Parker fountain Pens used the same material for manufacturing these "O" Rings. DONT get fooled by the Ebayers, statements saying, " Original "O" Rings, made by Parker". Might be they are made of orignal Parker, But they are all made of NBR, which is LESS superior Polymer to present days Advanced Polymer technology. 

What is VITON Polymer (FKM)? 
                                                      FKM is the American standard short form name for Fluoroelastomers or fluoro rubber material. F stands for Fluoro; the K is an abbreviation of the German word Kohlenstoff, meaning Carbon; and the M is the designation of saturated backbone rubber from. FKM has many great advantages over the conventional polymers, like NBR and Neoprene (CR). viton has more heat resistance, up to 300c when compared to other polymers like NBR having, 130c. Not only that, viton has the capability to resist the low temperature even up to -20c. Though the FKM has very good elasticity, it is harder than any other Polymers, ranging from 50 to 95 hardness. Most of the fountain pen inks consists of water, and water has the oxygen molecule to oxidase any polymer to make it fragile and brittle. FKM has out standing oxidation resistance, MOST essential Parameter for making the "O" Ring. oil resistance and Flame resistance are few additional advantages which the FKM has.

One can easily understand that, viton Polymer is the Latest and the Advanced polymer which lasts  longer than any other polymers, because of its superior Physical and Chemical Properties.
